RP: Off Her Rocker WHO: Luna Lovegood & Gregory Goyle. WHERE: Ferguson's Fine Furnishings WHEN: November 27, 1999 WHAT: Luna is in search of a rocking chair. COMPLETE
Everyone in Papua New Guinea had said that it would be odd to return to England after a year, but Luna Lovegood did not think so. Not anymore than she had found it odd to move to Papua New Guinea from England six months after the Wizarding War, having taken her NEWTs during the intensive program designed for the students a year above her. She had stayed to help clean up the mess after the battle, but she hadn't fancied another year in the castle after all that had happened there, really.
Besides, she'd wanted to go study the Papuan Hornbill. And she had. And she'd had a wonderful time. Even if the native people had thought she was exceedingly odd. Luna was used to people thinking she was odd. She didn't know why, but she was used to it. She'd even found herself a boyfriend in Rolf. The natives had thought he was odd too.
But she had missed Daddy. And Ginny. And Hermione. And Neville. And Harry. And Ron. Luna had never expected to have so many people to miss, nor that they'd write her long owls saying how they missed her too. But she liked it, liked them, her friends. So here she was, home in the cold after a long year in the tropical sun. But she needed a rocking chair--Daddy had somehow managed to break hers while going after a Nargle.
This shop in Knockturn did not have anything very promising. Not promising at all. It was all very old and quite sinister. Walking up behind a very tall fellow who appeared to work here, she said, "Excuse me, but do you have any other rocking chairs? All of yours appear to be haunted by erklings, actually."
