As the Auror talked, James guided them into the living room, practically forcing Josiah to sit down. This wasn't the sort of news that he needed to hear standing up-- it wasn't the sort of news that anyone needed to hear standing up. Or needed to hear period, but she couldn't save him from that.
Merlin, she hoped that his brother and sister-in-law were alive (and stayed that way). Her hand that was still on Josiah's hip gave it a reassuring squeeze as she let her chin rest on his shoulder, giving physical comfort where words failed her.
"This might seem like a stupid question, but are you sure that the safe house is-- well, safe?" James wasn't entirely immediately trusting of the MLE. The war might've been over, but Lizzy's time in Azkaban was still too recent for James to entirely trust anyone who worked for the Ministry.
