WHO: Gwen and Regulus
WHEN: February 14th, Tuesday night.
WHERE: Gwen's flat in Holyhead.
WHAT: Dinner and drinks and stuff at Gwen's.
RATING: TBD.
STATUS: Closed, in-progress.

Regulus turned around and gave another pointed look at the door to his childhood home once Sirius had practically shoved him out of it and told him to get going to see Gwen. He had a bag of home-cooked food in one arm and a bottle of wine in his other hand along with a very perplexed look on his face.

Sirius had done all the cooking, mind you. Regulus had tried to help out, but when he'd burned whatever it was that his brother had left him in charge of Sirius chucked him out of the kitchen and told him to go shower and put on proper clothes (apparently jeans and a t-shirt simply would not do).

So there he stood on the front step still, in a simple button down white long-sleeved shirt, black slacks, nice shoes, and a freaking tie - all clothes Sirius had oh-so-graciously loaned him. He sat the bag and bottle of wine down on the ground for a moment, then undid his tie and unbuttoned the collar of his shirt - there, that was better. Not perfect, but better. Regulus collected everything once more, then finally Apparated to Holyhead, to an alley nearby Gwen's flat.

As he took the short walk to her place, his brow furrowed wondering if he was doing the right thing. Yes, it was that stupid holiday that shall not be named. This wasn't his way of acknowledging it, he just merely wanted to spend time with Gwen and it happened to be on that day. He also wondered what Gwen would think about it all. No, he certainly was not there to propose. But he'd liked what he had gotten to know of her so far and wanted to continue down this road a little, wherever it led.

He didn't have long to think about it all, however, before Gwen's door was in front of him. Regulus knocked once and waited.

Gwen was, after all, a girl. And as such, she couldn't help but think about the fact that it was Valentine's Day. And she was going on a date. With a man. A real man, too, and he was probably going to spend the night. On Valentine's Day. When the knock came, she answered with a smile on her face.

"Hello," she said with a smile. "Come in, please."

Regulus returned her smile with one of his own, pausing in front of her on his way inside Gwen's flat. He slipped the hand holding the bottle of wine around her waist and leaned in to kiss her. "Hello, gorgeous," he finally breathed, only pulling away once he was satisfied he'd given her a proper greeting.

He stepped past her further into her flat and turned to face Gwen as she closed the door behind him. "I hope you're not too set on going out tonight. I failed to get reservations somewhere, you see," he said teasingly. Well, truthfully he had failed to do such a thing, but only because that was never the plan in the first place.

"But, if your heart's set on it, we can go brave the crowds of lovebirds instead of having a nice, quiet evening here. We can put the wine and my brother's delicious, made-from-scratch meal in the refrigerator. It should keep." One corner of his mouth twitched up into a smirk.

Gwen liked kissing him, and she leaned into it, smiling, her hand pressed in against his back. She tugged him into the flat and blinked at him. "You want to stay in?" she asked. She frowned, though, because the last thing she'd thought about doing was clean. And Gwen was not a naturally neat person, so that meant her flat was generally very messy. Like it was right now. She also wasn't very good -- at all -- at simple household charms, so it wasn't like she could tidy up really quickly either. "Oh, well -- I don't know, Regulus. It can't be very comfortable here in my flat."

Regulus watched the expression on her face and listened to her excuse as to why they shouldn't stay in, unable to keep the grin off of his face. "I think we've managed to make ourselves rather comfortable here previously," he said devilishly.

He could practically see the wheels turning in her head over the current state of her flat and added, "If you're worried about the tidiness of your place, don't be. The only reason I pick up after myself right now is because Sirius would probably kill me if I didn't."

He placed his hand under her chin and stepped closer to her once again. "I would just like to spend some time with you."

"Well," she started to say, gesturing around the small, cluttered -- oh, all right, messy, really -- flat, "if you don't mind how awful my flat is right now, we can stay. I just don't have time to be bothered with such a little thing like cleaning. That, and I don't really ever have people over either." She shrugged a bit sheepishly then went about closing and locking the door behind him. "And I'm pretty sure I don't have a table anywhere either so that means the couch or the floor. Hardly a decent spot for a nice dinner, and I'm assuming the dinner is very nice, if your brother cooked it."

"I'm a very informal person, Jones, in case you hadn't noticed." Regulus tugged at the tie that was hanging loosely around his neck and stuffed it into his back pocket as proof.

He walked further into her flat, to the living room and stood for a moment in front of the large floor-to-ceiling window. "How about here?"

"And yet you came wearing a tie. Had you always intended to take it off like this?" She reached out and played with the collar of his shirt and kissed him gently. "There's fine. Let me see if I can find plates and glasses and things. Might have to do a quick wash though ..." She trailed off as she headed for the nearly-bare cupboards and poked around in them. She managed to find some mostly clean pieces, and she moved to the sink to give them a bit of a rinse by hand. "Do you need a blanket or something to throw down on the floor?"

"I blame Sirius for that one. I think he would've tackled me to the ground and forced me to wear it, had I not put it on in front of him before I left," he answered with a small smile as she kissed him.

He sat the food and the bottle of wine down on the floor and watched Gwen for a brief moment as she poked around in the kitchen area. "Sure...I'm sure I can find something that'll work while you do that," he said, before disappearing further into her flat. He really had no idea what he was doing and hadn't thought of putting a blanket or anything down because of that fact. Thankfully he didn't have to search much, even given the state of her disheveled flat, and snatched a blanket off of Gwen's bed.

Regulus returned to her living area and set the blanket down, then headed over to see if Gwen needed a hand. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Can I help you with anything else?"

"Well, you did look dapper, but I'm really not a tie kind of girl, just so you know." She moved every piece of freshly washed dishes over to the blanket he'd set up, stopping when he met her half way. "I think we've got it all covered, haven't we?"

Gwen leaned over and kissed him again. "This all smells brilliant. Did you have any hand at all in making it?"

"Noted," he smirked, "but you'll probably have to convince Sirius of that more than you have to convince me." Sirius had tried to put him in an entire three-piece suit after all before they finally came to an agreement on his current clothes.

Regulus snorted and shook his head at the question. "No and that's a good thing, trust me. I tried to help him out a little, but I wound up burning something and he went mental and kicked me out of the kitchen." He actually had been trying to learn to cook from Sirius, but he was horrible at it and wound up burning or overcooking most of the food more often than not.

"I actually have no idea what he sent with me, since it was barely five minutes into cooking this that he tossed me out," he grabbed her hand and led her the few steps over to the blanket and sat down on it, busying himself with pulling the still warm dishes of covered food out of the bag.

"Looks like some sort of soup, salad, and pasta dish, maybe?"

"Sounds like the two of you have a wonderful brotherly relationship then, hmn?" Gwen smiled. "And it's too bad that you can't cook. Though I guess haven't your brother do your cooking for you is acceptable. My baby sister bakes. Really well, too. I start fires and cause massive amount of smoke damage."

Gwen sank to the floor and sat crossed legged beside him. "Looks great though," she said. "And smells good too. And, I'm completely famished."
