Advent table
*taps microphone and clears throat*
Hello, all!

So, as we all gear up for our drabbles/drawbles/ficlets that we're hopefully planning to start posting in three days, it occurred to me that maybe people would like an advent 'calendar' of sorts to provide inspiration, in the event you need some. :)

To that end I've picked twenty-four (24) prompts and an extra, if, like me, you decide to do a Christmas/Yule/Whatever fic at the end. Each one will be revealed on the appropriate day of the month and anyone is welcome to use the prompt in any way they'd like in any fandom they'd like. And of course, you don't have to use the provided prompts at all, I just figured it'd be a fun thing. *g*

Here they are, but the prompts are still a seekret. ;)

01.Dec01 02.Dec02 03.Dec03 04.Dec04 05.Dec05
06.Dec06 07.Dec07 08.Dec08 09.Dec09 10.Dec10
11.Dec11 12.Dec12 13.Dec13 14.Dec14 15.Dec15
16.Dec16 17.Dec17 18.Dec18 19.Dec19 20.Dec20
21.Dec21 22.Dec22 23.Dec23 24.Dec24 25.Dec25

I hope this encourages more people to play! *g*

*Edit: Each day's prompt shall be revealed as close as possible to Midnight GMT so that everyone has a fair shot at them. :)

Such a good idea!

It'll be the first time I'll try to participate and the prompts will certainly help! (although it'll be evening in my time zone when you reveal them)....

Hmm, I should prolly pick a certain time each day to reveal them, shouldn't I? Wonder if it would work better if I said Midnight GMT or something? *ponders*

And yay that you're playing. :)

Well... to compare -- it's 9.17pm where I am right now.
And since it sometimes takes a while to come up with something works... And yes I do realise I'm, like, way in the minority here since most of the people playing are closer to your own timezone..

Heh yeah -- seemed like fun and this year I'm not battling a thesis...

I think it's a good idea to centralize it a bit more, actually. As an American I do sometimes forget that there are other parts of the world *sheepish* but I have no problem revealing them at say... midnight GMT, which would be about an hour off your time, right?

Oh that would work brilliantly! I'd have most of my day to work on them, or at least have the idea run around my head *nods excitedly*

:D

K so, just to be sure, it's almost 3pm where I am, and that would make it almost 9pm GMT, right? So I'm aiming for 6pm my time to post each day's reveal.

I just checked on the online World Clock and yes, it's almost 9pm GMT.

So, just to be clear, if you were to reveal prompt #1 today at 6pm your time, I would see it tomorrow -- would it be the prompt for tomorrow?

Yes, I'll reveal the prompt for Dec 1st at 6pm my time on Nov 30th, so it'll be up at 1am your time.

In that case you get the silly-happy-dance icon :D
[and, of course, I won't be at a computer until evening my time on Saturday, but I'm not complaining!]

Great idea!

And the rules seem pretty open-ended, but I'll ask just in case: are crossovers okay? Because I have a tendency to make characters play in each other's worlds. Yes, even in drabbles, though those tend to be cracky as there's no room to really set it up. :-)

Crossovers are great! In fact, do see the current challenge over at [info]snarry100 for my opinion on that. ;)
