My name is Courtney, I'm 25, and I live in Virginia with my husband and our two cats. My husband is in the military and we are moving to Japan in about 6 months. I am a photographer. I enjoy music (mostly hard rock and metal), reading, traveling, surreal art, and movies.
As of lately my entries consist of getting ready for our move to Japan and our renewal wedding which is in about two weeks.
I am looking for friends that are around my age, I wont add anyone over 30. I am not looking for people who post about drug or alcohol use either.
I am a friendly person with an opinion. I have made a lot of great friends through various blogging sites over the last 6 years.

If youre interested in adding me, please comment on my friends only post. thanks!

Hello.

New to IJ would love some friends. :)

NAME: Dia
AGE: Older than I want to be.
INTERESTS; Photography, music, blogging, all forms of art, family.
HOBBIES; The basics are concert hopping, hitting up starbucks, going for walks in the city with my camera. I'm a concert photographer who works with local and regional bands, so basically my hobby is my job. It's fun and wonderful and I've just come out of hibernation (had a baby he's three months now so back to work!)
LOOKING FOR; I'm looking for anyone and everyone. I think we learn something from every interaction and I'm full of knowledge and curiousity. The only requirement to be my friend is that you do NOT type lYkE tHIs, are not racist, homophobic and I think that is about it.
Also: I do post a lot of images in my journal BUT I do it behind a cut.
ALSO KNOWN AS; http://www.myspace.com/mylovesaverb and http://www.greatestjournal.com/saygoodbye (yes I'm a transplant! Five long years with GJ I hope IJ will be just as awesome).

Hi

I'm 29 years old. Left LiveJournal when it got sold to the Russians. Came here when S.S. GJ started capsizing. Back on LJ I had some friends from the other side of the planet. I'd like to get something like that going here. I need more people to read. I mostly blog crap. Not really a "cheese sandwich" journal, because I'm too lazy to record all the minutia.  Just daily goings-on and the occasional photo. If you add me I'll add you back, and I'll comment if I have anything worth saying.

Me!

I'm 26 years old, male. A college-educated high school dropout who in his spare time writes and revises memoirs, records folk albums and is exceptionally warm and friendly, for an individualistic literary type.

And I want you on my friends list! (Probably.)

Hello, my name is Tracy and I've snuck over here from Greatest Journal...since it doesn't seem to work half the time and I'm just annoyed. I also feel that an asylum suits me so much better. *lol*

Looking to add some new friends over here. I'm trying to get all my interests on my page, but it's been a little hectic here in life. I own a Ragdoll cat, she's is my baby. I am dating someone. No kids, even though I want them, never been married, yet. I like reading other people's journal and actually getting to know them. I'm not looking to add numbers to my friends list. Never understood that. Why would you want to scroll through all those entries if you could care less about the people on your list?

I love animals, birds, especially raptors, my family is my life. I'm into music, movies, some television, Lost and OLTL would be my two downfalls. I like to read, cross stitch, scrapbook, bead, take pictures, create graphics, etc.

I'm currently finally finishing my degree in graphic design so that I too can finally have a career and make some decent money.

If any of this sounds interesting to you, feel free to add me and I'll add you back.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Hey yo, I'm an LJ-escapee-turned-GJ-escapee-turned-IJ-aficionado.

I'd like to make some new friends to add to the wise ones that came over from GJ. I'm 32, female (but not fond of gender roles), single, child-free (by choice), and a big nerd.

I post about my life, which I've been told is actually interesting. I work (pro bono) in animal rescue, I'm a dancer, and I have dreams of getting some of my reams of fiction published.

I'm extremely open-minded and liberal. I like alternative thinking and lifestyles. The only people I don't get along with are the prejudiced, bigoted type.

My journal's in native english despite the German all over it. I'm just a pretentious jerk like that, lol. I'm actually rather nice despite my rough exterior. I post and comment regularly.

Hello. I'm new to IJ so I'm in need of new friends. I'm Cruz from Bakersfield California. 26 years old. I've been married for 3 1/2 years. I have no children or pets.

I'm an easy person to get a long with.

I just joined IJ last night after massive friend lists post concerned that GJ was about to bite the dust and moving over to here.

I'm twenty-six, female and from Louisville, Kentucky. Single, never married, no kids and a self proclaimed geek.

I'm into a lot of things which include music, movies, traveling, writing, gaming, rpg, all things Harry Potter, the beautiful hilarity that is Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the history of 1920's organized crime (mobsters) as well as the Titanic.

I'm just looking for some new friends and I do comment entries, I enjoy getting comments and all in all, I'm friendly so what are you waiting for? Add me already.

I make up stuff all the time and I exaggerate wildly but you can always tell when I do this because the story usually begins thus: "I saw Shakespeare today and he told me that Shakespeare in Love was a quite accurate portrayal of his life except that it wasn't Viola he fell in love with but Kate. This explains a lot." It might actually have been a dream but why mention that bit of insignificant data when you want to get to the meat of your anecdote. I like to read and draw and I fandom everything because everything is fanfiction and fanart. I prefer to be referred to by 'ungender' pronouns but as long as you call me he and she with equal abandon I'll be a happy camper. I am new here and would like a friend or two, though I have already pathetically enthusiastically added a few of the people here already. So friend me if you want to and if you don't.

[info]randombastary

Anybody? Anybody?

Hello, all. I am Kris ([info]randombastary on all the big blogging servers). I'm currently twenty-ten, and I live in California's Central Valley (in the hometown of George Lucas ... though, like most people who call this town home, I can't stand the man). I'm perpetually single, and I revel in being a geek. I'm an unpublished writer (like every other blogger) of fantasy. Lately, I've been centering more on mythology, and fairy tale-type stuff (cuz I find it pretty fascinating).

I mostly use my IJ for my fandom needs (after the whole Strikethrough affair), and I would love to have more friends to squee (or be angry) with, over silly, fandom stuff. My fandoms include: "Criminal Minds," "Heroes," "Journeyman," Celtic Punk and Rock bands, "Highlander" (both on tv and the Silver Screen), The 13th Warrior, and LotR. But my big ones right now are Gerard Butler movies, "Supernatural," and the BBC's "Robin Hood." Mythology and legends (and the like) will also make an occasional appearance (though, when they have, it's usually in kind of an academic way). And I've also been known to discuss a little bit of HP (cuz the HP (as well as the SPN) wank amuses me).

So, in short: Love me ... please?

[info]thegrrlgeek

‘ello all.

My name is Jennifer though I tend to go by Jenn or Jenna. On the net, I am known as one of three things; mab8merlin, awomanapart and thegrrlgeek.

I am twenty-five years old, forever single and a female.

Currently I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania though I am looking at moving out towards Harrisburg, Pennsylvania or another state entirely.

I spend my days (and nights) working full time as a data resource person in a data entry department as well as finishing out my bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies from an online university. One day I am hoping to attend law school; but we’ll have to wait and see.

Fandoms from TV/Movies include Psych, Murphy Brown, The Commish, Blood Ties, General Hospital, Harry Potter, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, Caroline in the City, Third Watch, ER, Monk, Gilligan’s Island, Law and Order: SVU, Oz, Alf, Weeds, The Tudors, The West Wing, Walker Texas Ranger, Mr. Bean, Family Guy, Boy Meets World, Frasier, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Phantom of the Opera, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Busters, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Thorn Birds and probably tons other.

Fandoms from books include Harry Potter, Kim Harrison novels, Charlene Harris novels, J.D. Robb novels, V.C. Andrews novels, Catherine Coulter novel, Jo Beverly novels, Tami Hoag novels and probably many more.

I will admit that I fell out of being active in any fandom and am looking to find a home in a new fandom. I am also open to finding new fandoms if people wish to introduce me to them. :)

Other interests include loom knitting on my knifty knitters, learning to needle knit, learning to bead, getting back into plastic canvas works, writing (trying to get back into it), listening to music, watching television/movies, Sudoku puzzles, singing off key, playing computer games, genealogy research, pen palling and other stuff.

I don’t have many friends; in RL or OL; and am looking to forge some new friendships. I am the type of person who doesn’t believe that you have to necessarily know a person in RL to be good friends but rather believe people can forge lasting friendships Online and other means. I was diagnosed in 2006 with depression and a mild case of OCD and realized at that time that I really didn’t know who I was except that I was trying to fit into every else’s mold. So I’m learning who I really am.

My journal tends to consist of real life posts as I really don’t have much to do in fandoms but as I get active in fandoms, I hope that changes.

Hi there! I'm Nikki, always was a follower, so here I am, all shiny and new from LJ. I never know what to say about myself in an intro, so bear with me!
I have a lot of interests, they include Harry Potter, the paranormal (lot's of personal experience stories there!), true crime novels, ghost hunting (for fun) and slasher flicks. I do tend to write more about HP than the normal person, just so you know!
More can be found on my userinfo.

My journal is friends only, and usually contains day to day stuff, the stupid that runs rampant through my head, news blurbs I find interesting, silly youtube mess (can you even post those here?) and in the future, fan fics I've written..all by myself! Just, you know, whatever happens to float my boat at the moment.

I'd like to add 18 and up only please! Mainly because of fan fics I'll be posting.
Some people love to add me only to ignore me and not try to get to know me, I'd like to make friends here!
If you add me, please comment here, or at the friends only post at my journal so I know.
(x posting!)

"Hello there, ladies and gentlemen!"

My name is Randa. I'm a fairly new IJ user; I've been here since the end of June. I'm a long-time (nearly four years) LJ user who was not personally impacted by the recent suspensions, but the suspensions did cause me to begin looking for a new online home after being dissatisfied with LJ's (lack of) customer service during the past couple of years. I've felt nothing but welcomed and comfortable here on IJ. I'm glad to be here and am looking forward to making many new friends here; hopefully this introductory entry will spark some people to friend me.

Basics
Name: Randa
Age: 37
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Occupational Info: currently a clerk for a collection agency's legal department, former paralegal and receptionist for a legal aid firm, and retired radio personality
Statuses: daughter to two living parents, auntie to two adorable nieces, sister to one, friend to some very good folks, girlfriend to Nick (also known as Mr. Z), ex-wife to one, legally blind chick, rape and domestic abuse survivor, dreamer, die-hard Cheap Trick fan

Hobbies
-- music My tastes run toward 70's classic rock, power pop, and oldies; I will try listening to anything once, however. Cheap Trick has been my favorite band for 30 years. Jellyfish, Eric Clapton (and his bands), Collective Soul, Ani DiFranco, and Alanis Morissette are other favorites. I'm a recent convert to country music. I try to play the guitar; I'm not very good at it. I enjoy singing and miss my singing lessons very much.
-- reading (primarily crime- and legal-based fiction, true crime novels, and biographies)
-- crocheting
-- online journaling
-- watching TV (Lost and The Shield are my favorite current shows.)
-- watching movies
-- writing (mostly poetry)

Things I Post About
-- photos of my completed crocheting projects
-- icons I've made
-- ramblings about my day-to-day activities
-- unabashed, unapologetic squeeeeeeing over whatever or whoever is making me happy at that moment
-- unabashed, unapologetic, squishy, checkerwhored love for Cheap Trick (my favorite band of 30 years) and Robin Zander (Cheap Trick's lead singer)
-- venting about the things I'm pissed off or annoyed about at that moment
-- random and often dorky notions that quickly make their way from my brain to an entry
-- liberal use of expletives
-- angstier, more contemplative ramblings... particularly about my being legally blind and a rape and domestic abuse survivor and issues corresponding to those two parts of my identity
-- some memes and quizzes
-- (perhaps) my poetry, magnetic poetry, and my therapeutic/cathartic writing project that I call SRZPP or "the pasta porn"

Online journaling is one of my primary creative and social outlets; so interaction is very important to me. I read my friends page AT LEAST once a day. I comment often and appreciate receiving comments very much. My online friends are not "just online friends" to me; they are my friends, period. I maintain [info]shuffle_songs and enjoy discussing music in the asylum's comments.

I'm generally optimistic, but I do have my bad days just like anyone else. Those who know me well have described me as fun, funny, supportive, loyal, passionate, and A DORK!

[info]rainbow_goddess

Greetings

I'm rainbow_goddess, and I am 14 years over the age of 25 (I am 39 -- really!). I live in British Columbia, Canada.

Some random things about me:

I am very left-wing in my politics. I am what Americans would call a "liberal."

I love cats, and many of my entries will at least mention my cats if not be completely about them.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome three years ago, and sometimes I write about that. I might wonder about some particular social norm that everyone but me seems to get, for example. I frequently write posts with the title "Things rainbow does not understand."

I'm bisexual.

I also have juvenile diabetes.

Interests: cats; other animals; cats; science fiction and fantasy, both books and TV (including but not limited to Doctor Who, Torchwood and the Stargate series); cats; diabetes; cats; doctor shows on TV, real-life ones as well as House -- I enjoy "Mystery Diagnosis" and "Diagnosis X" on the Learning Channel; cats, and, um, cats.

Hi I'm new

I'm pretty new to ij and I am a quite a bit over 25, in fact I'm 41. I live in New Jersey and have two teenage kids, I like sculpting with polymer clay and knitting. I am kind of quiet and a little shy but will always stand up for myself. I am not good at talking about myself but if you find me interesting, add me.
