i've had some growing pains with my journal over the past few months, but i'm comfortable with knowing what i can say and what i can't now and i want to add new friends, because the more the merrier, eh?

i work in showbiz (hence the discretion issues). you won't find any insider gossip in my journal, so don't add me for that. i've learned the delicate art of keeping my mouth shut. XD

i consider los angeles home but i am currently "doing time" in the midwest.

i'm a goth hippie, srsly. spiritual, vegetarian, environmentalist. industrial music, black hair, bondage. it's fab.

i write about my life and my art and adventures. i'm political (liberal) and make no apologies. i'm a compulsive volunteer and activist. open-minded towards gender, sexuality, substances, etc etc just no puppy kickers, thx.

My name is Tonya. I've been using this site since January, and although I have a great flist, I found that I'm always seeing the same 3 or 4 people post entries. So, I'm hoping to make more friends on IJ so I can have more to comment on.

About me: Sometimes, I write entries that make no sense at all. Like, I'll just have a thousand hearts on a page. This is usually around Christmas or Valentine's Day when I'm feeling kind of lonely or bored. Sometimes, I write long entries and throw in a little poetry or crazy head ranting... And sometimes, I write story type entries where I try to describe the events around me in a clean readable way.

I don't have a 'real' journal at the moment, but plan to get one soon.   I came to ij originally looking for roleplaying buddies and communities to join.   I really do love to RP!  I just love to write in general, honestly.  I love to escape on wings of fancy. 
I also like music a lot.  I'm very into J-rock right now - mainly the bands Dir en grey and Onmyouza!
I also love Cradle of Filth, Kamelot, Jewel, Pink! and Enya, just to show off my rather colorful musical appreciations ^^

I work at a Cafe in Ukrop's - a super market which is found in Virginia.  We might be branching out a little bit more soon, so look for us?
I also have a sideline thing at the Starbucks which is now a part of our store!  I enjoy that a great deal.  The smell of coffee clinging to the skin is delicious, in my opinion.   

As for my personality, I'm friendly but rather shy for the most part - even online.
I am a loyal friend though, and I love talking to new people!

Hi, I'm September, a 38 year old woman from England. I'm a teacher -to 6 year olds, a mum to my 2 teenagers, a wife and an LJ refugee.

Well, I decided to come back to the site as I wanted to get away from another online journal site (I won't say which one it is but I just don't feel happy there. And I felt that perhaps a change of scenery might help in regards to my journal writing and such).

And since I have come back to the site, I have set up a 'friends only' journal with the username mentioned above.

With that out of the way...

I'm a font designer, I'm 30 years old. I'd like to begin a hobby of muff diving and am currently looking for candidates. Particularly I'd like to put into practice some of the techniques I've seen at Abbywinters.com.


2) Tell us why you came to InsaneJournal. Did someone from IJ tell you (and if so, who)?

Wanted an alternative to LJ. Greatest Journal wrote a notice on their site one day that they don't do a lot of maintenance anymore and advised people to check out IJ.


3) What is your favorite thing, so far, about InsaneJournal?

It looks like they try to make a point of being more welcoming to people than LJ and the site layout looks neat and tidy.


4) Have you joined any other asylums? If not, would you like to?

Definitely looking for asylums to join. I really like the shitty_advice community at LJ, I might try to start one here. I've joined [info]off_topic_cafe.


5) Is there a certain kind of asylum or type of friends you are looking for?

Well I do like humor. For friends I guess just people that I have things in common with. Though people who are different in some way are interesting.

My name is Jen and I'm a 30 year old RN. I just moved to IJ after my sister told me about it. I've been on LJ for a long time now, and while I'll probably keep it, it seemed almost like a fresh start to come here and meet new people. :)

I live in Winlock, WA. I'm engaged and have a 18 month old boy. I'm just getting settled into a hospital job and once the training is over, will have steady hours to post and chat it up on here!

I'm very open-minded. It's not my place to judge what other people do, and I've been around long enough to know that drama isn't fun and I'd just like to get along with people and enjoy friendships.

My most favorite of all hobbies is writing and reading books. So you'll probably hear a lot about my writing woes. And about my baby. :) But I'm looking to have a freedom here I don't feel I have at LJ to be completely myself and, well, as corny as it sounds, start over.

I turned 30 in November and then came the new year and a new job. So I figured it was time to take a leap and fix the things I don't like in my life. HEY! My name is Sammie. I am 27 years old and currently live in Massachusetts, though I'm from maine and plan on moving back HOPEFULLY by this coming summer. I have a 5 year old daughter named Charlene and we share a one bedroom apartment in a busy town. Right now I work at a local Dunkin Donuts - as of 3 weeks ago. I know, pretty shitty dead end job but I'm having difficulty finding a job I enjoy. In 2005-2006, I was in collge for Radiology Technology, and someday when I have the chance, I will return to college and finish. But until then, I gotta do what I gotta do.



Let's see. I'm looking for open-minded friends who will not judge me.  I guess that may be hard to find since everyone is judged on how they act or what they do.  I'm the type of person who adds people to really KNOW them, and to be friends.  So someone who updates often and about themselves, instead of quizzes and things that dont matter.  Like I said, I like getting to know the people I add to my friends list, as I share some pretty dark things at times.

My interests... well, hmmm.  I am totally into scary movies.  I prefer them over any other "type" of movie.  I'm not a huge TV fan, and it's rare I will sit through any one tv show.  I also like to shoot pool, though I'm not very good at it.  I'm not big on going out to places, so hanging here at home or at someone else's home is more ideal for me.  I enjoy drinking, and have severely cut down, but still have drinks occasionally.  Like tonight ; Superbowl! :-)  I smoke weed - and I occasionally post about things regarding it so if that bothers you, you may not want to add me.  I'm not some hardcore druggie, but I enjoy smoking in the evening after my daughter has gone to bed.  Um what else... Hmmm.  I'm single, but that's a whole other story in itself.

I really dont know what else to say.  I have been journaling since July 2001.  I started out at livejournal as LAVALIQID (which I still have but never really update anymore.)  I then moved to greatest journal where I was lickinglizzards and acid_illusion.  And now.. like many people, I am here.

But that's about it.  I prefer friends over the age of 21, who are open-minded, update regularly about themselves, and comment every so often - because like I said, I like to KNOW and be friends with the people I add.

Hello, my name is Tracy and I've snuck over here from Greatest Journal...since it doesn't seem to work half the time and I'm just annoyed. I also feel that an asylum suits me so much better. *lol*

Looking to add some new friends over here. I'm trying to get all my interests on my page, but it's been a little hectic here in life. I own a Ragdoll cat, she's is my baby. I am dating someone. No kids, even though I want them, never been married, yet. I like reading other people's journal and actually getting to know them. I'm not looking to add numbers to my friends list. Never understood that. Why would you want to scroll through all those entries if you could care less about the people on your list?

I love animals, birds, especially raptors, my family is my life. I'm into music, movies, some television, Lost and OLTL would be my two downfalls. I like to read, cross stitch, scrapbook, bead, take pictures, create graphics, etc.
