Though her parents had arrived in the hours of Christmas Eve to Christmas Day, there hadn't been much actual sleep for Meda Lestrange or most of the others. Reunions had turned to necessary time for smaller groups of individuals to regroup, groupings that changed over the course of hours in their different combinations. Then had come the actual Christmas festivities, Meda watching her grandmothers with amusement as they scrambled without actually scrambling to adjust everything from meals to presents to accommodate the arrival of Rabastan and Narcissa Lestrange.
Eventually, however, sleep had caught up with even the live energy that was Meda, crashing with her head against the shoulder of the elder version of her father, moving in sleep to cling even more each time he tried to move. So it was there she slept.
Sunlight coming into the common room woke Meda from sleep. At first, there was the disorientation of where was she, as the fabric in from of her face definitely wasn't her pillow. It was only on blinking and looking up that she found she'd had her face pressed solidly into Rabastan's stomach. There was a pillow under her head, on his lap, and one under his head where it rested against the sofa, blankets tucked around both her and him.
He was here. He really was here, she hadn't dreamed it!
Shifting slightly, she got herself upright and moved so she was nearly nose to nose with him, grinning widely, but saying nothing as she waited for him to wake up with the impatience that would have been better suited to Christmas mornings of old.
