Who: Jesse When: Monday, Spring, 1,186 AP Where: Tasmania What: Reading, thinking, and trying to figure out what she can do next
Jesse sat in the makeshift library they had in their little makeshift dwelling their to house their children that were still afflicted with their infliction. It was hard for Jesse to be around so many young people yet they were pretty much in a lifeless coma. Most had already died, but a few still hung on. They seemed to not change like the adults did and just stayed in their coma like states until their weakened bodies either gave out or it seemed they were strong enough to continue on.
Jesse was still studying, being taught by Molly to be a nurse. She studied the book that Molly had kept from her schooling days in University to become a Dr. It was home schooling, but what else was their to do? Most everyone else was dead, hiding away to not be infected, or was infected and wondering around trying to infect those that were left uninfected.
She sighed turned the page and continued to try to read. She wasn't really absorbing anything she was reading, and would probably latter on go back and re-read, her mind kept wondering off thinking about other things, like what would happen to all these children that were still in a coma, and if a cure was finally found. Would they wake up and be able to survive? Several years had gone by, most had fallen into a coma shortly after they hit puberty now about two to four years had went by of their lives, their parents might be dead, and the world changed so much. She sighed again. The world was definitely not what it once was at all. The only ones that had any semblance of what their old life was, was the extremely rich.
What was she going to do? Would she be a Dr? She had been wanting to be an X-men, but since then she hadn't really had very much to do with the X-men since the plague had been released. She had found that her skills seemed to be more helpful here. As she could see when a child was in desperate pain, or about to die sometimes. In which they would make the young child as comfortable as they could and stay with them even if they weren't aware of it until their passing. Molly thought it was the least they could be. Jesse agreed, and often would sit with them, or Mrs. G would or both of them together. It was so hard to see such young ones pass on.
She wondered if she could be a Dr? It wasn't like anything was conventional anymore, their was no board, testing, or whatever. Those that were surviving were barely surviving and often wondering when they would be infected, and end up like most of the masses. She finally shut the book, and stared out at the dreary day outside giving in to letting her mind just wonder.
