Who: Storm, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Wolfsbane When: Monday, Spring, 1,186 AP Where: NYC What:Going off to find Gambit who is missing
Storms team had gone out early in the morning to scavenge for anything that could be useable, be converted to something else, or food. However, over the years it was pretty slim pickings now for any of this. Though, they still went out never fail at least every other day to scavenge. Storm's team was also a scout team to see if by any chance there was anyone still lurking, hiding, or just trying to survive out there that was not infected. Then if they found anyone around they would report to Wolverine's team about it and they would go out to retrieve whomever it was.
Storm drove the big hum-v, Wolfsbane beside her in the passenger side, with Shadowcat and Nightcrawler in the back to be on retrieval, or search. Gambit was always wondering around despite the danger, but he seemed to just chuckle it off when anyone tried to talk to him about it even Storm. It annoyed Storm to no end, but what was she to do? She always had just a little sway on him to give him advice or change some sort of thought process he had. She was the only one for a long time that he respected at all, until he had been in the group for a while then he became close to others too. So then it was a wider circle of people who sometimes could talk him out of some of his more crazy thought processes, however, sometime there was just no changing his mind. He would get fixated on something and nothing or no one would change his mind.
Storm sighed, and turned to Wolfsbane. "Do you see anything? Anything we can use, or most important Gambit?" Wolfsbanes was in her transitional form which made using her abilities better then in her human form, and had been using her good eyesight, and binoculars to enhance it even more to scan all around them. She shook her head about Gambit, but pointed out to the far off and said, "Drive that way, Storm, I think I see something shiny in the distance might be something we can tear apart and use parts for." Her voice sort of growly, and gruffer then her human form, but at least she could talk in her transitional form whereas her in her wolf form she was just used as another tracker much like Wolverine could be used for sometimes.
If push came to shove she would send out Wolfsbane in her wolf form, and Nightcrawler to search on foot for Gambit. However, with his staff, and how light he was on his feet he could be anywhere. Hell, he could have even taken one of many flying machines they had to fly to some other place. Sometimes, Storm wanted to strangle the other individual for his lack of thought towards others and the worry they might have for him. However, that had always been the way with Gambit, not that he did it to really hurt anyone else, worry them, or frighten them with his little solo journeys from boredom, she thought, he just didn't think about it, or was used to telling anyone anything. He was his own man, and really always had been. Sometimes she wondered what had made him stay around so long in the first place.
Storm drove the vehicle toward the shiny object that Wolfsbane had pointed out and telling her where to drive too. She drove toward the object which looked like an old generator. Maybe they could use it for the times that they sometimes went without power for a few days because Surge would lose power at one of the power plants and being the only one there had to figure out, and fix all by herself. Nightcrawler was told to go out and bamf to the object and then bamf it back. It made it easy just in case something was out and about. However, most times they were safe in the daylight as the infected somehow had some sort of allergy, or couldn't stand the light for very long so stayed in the shadows most the time while it was daylight. They were around, you could hear them, but unless you were caught in a shadow place you would never see them out right.
Toward the end of the scavenging expedition Storm did let Wolfsbane and Nightcrawler out to track for a bit for Gambit. It was finally getting dusk when the four had to pack it in, hope that Gambit was somewhere else, and would come back soon. Storm would be worried another night it seemed with wonder of where Gambit was, if he was all right, and staying away from the infected. If he came back infected she didn't know what she would do. She had never fully got over her feelings for him, even though she had said nothing about it to him after she had found him with Rogue, and after Rogue had died it just didn't seem right to try to wheedle in on him. So, her feelings for him were hers alone, and no one knew about them really but Wolverine as she was always the closest to him, in fact that had, had little bouts off and on of being more intimate then just friends, however, they never really became anything more then friends. Wolverine's and Storm's relationship no one seemed to understand but them, however, it worked, and anyone else just shrugged off whatever they were doing at any given time as just how they were with each other.
They eventually turned back, at least not completely defeated by the journey. They had retrieved an extra generator. Back at the institute Storm parked the hum-v and got out. She walked toward the entrance, and straight to her room. It was hard for her to know one of her members were missing, or wondering in possibly dangerous areas. She would speak to Wolverine about searching more on his shift to for her. She probably knew he would grumble and growl about him being his own man, and Storm being a mother hen most of the time toward him, but she didn't care. She was becoming worried, and just wanted to know he was okay.
