We do NOT claim to be the actual wrestlers. If anyone ever does say, “I really am *said character*,” please report it to the Unscripted Mods. That is something we can’t allow and will not tolerate.
This is a RPG, so even though we take the characters, their names and likenesses from what is portrayed on television, and maybe sometimes off, this is all made up, it's a fantasy thing. This is all fiction, which most of us are fans of, so we use our imaginations and twisted minds to do all this. And yes, you may run into Kane, calling himself Glenn Jacobs, or Rey Mysterio without his mask. We will most definitely talk about things that do not appear on wrestling shows, use wrestlers real names and possibly news gathered off message boards to further our characterizations.
Those who participate should try and keep the characters on-goings up with that is actually happening with that person. This includes injuries, movie roles, etc.
We make no claims to the sexuality of anyone involved. A great majority of us are fan fiction writers who very much enjoy reading and writing slash (slash is same sex sexual relations); so our characters will reflect that. You also have to take into account the much higher male ratio of wrestling personalities to the amount of females... you get the idea here.
Also, if you join in and your Maria Kanellis wants to get it on with Dave Batista and Dave is openly gay, move on. The same if a character is straight. These characters can be gay, straight or bi, it's up to the maintainer to determine that. If the character your character wants isn't into, het sex, don't harass them, pick someone else or... masterbate.
In addition, regarding the whole sex/relationship issue, if you join in and your brand new Matt Hardy would like to see what John Cena is like, but John is already dating someone.. you must play along. There will be no crashing, talking is ok, but don't barge in. Do yourself and all other participants a favor, find out what's going on and work from there. If you crash someone's on-goings, that is a ban worthy offense.
Another example: Chris Irvine is dating Paul Levesque in his storyline. If you sign up to play Chris, you have to go along with the Paul relationship that was already established.
Unscripted WILL accept existing storylines from other games, or games that have died. When you apply, please let us know if you are planning to bring something in so we can make sure it works for our own existing storylines.
Get it? Got it? Good.
The rules of playing in Unscripted
ф Dead Journals: The death list will be posted on the last day of each month. The week before, you will get a reminder from the mods. If you do not update within a week of the reminder, your journal will be declared dead. However, you must be active in at least one of the sub communities before then. We reserve the right to remove anyone who we feel is just updating to "get by."
ф Number of Journals: The journal limit per player at this time is
ф Disclaimers: EVERY participant MUST include a disclaimer in their profile. We will be checking for these very regularly to ensure compliance. Lack of a disclaimer will constitute immediate banning. The IJ required disclaimer is below and MUST be in your profile/user info:
[This journal is part of a non-profit role-playing community and is not intended to be taken literally as the character portrayed. We are in no way associated with the owners of the intellectual property the character belongs to. No copyright infringement is intended, nor do we pretend to own any part of said property, trademarks or characters. This journal may be subject to permanent suspension without notice at the request of the real person, trademark holder, copyright owner or agent thereof.]
No links are allowed in your user info. Yes, we know other sources must sometimes be credited, but for the protection of the game, please just say "icons from Joe" or "information from Joe's Wrestling Site" and do not provide a link back. This goes for all types of sites, not just icons or informational, but official wrestler's sites, even wwe.com. We don't want the trouble that could possibly come from these things.
ф IC, OOC, and Anonymity: Keep IC (in character) and OOC (out of character) things separate. Never ask a person who they play. If you do and we find out, you will be immediately kicked out.
ф Common Courtesy and Character Usage: If you have a storyline, but you need, say, Dave Batista to play it out properly… ask first. Don’t use a character without the owner’s express permission. We spend a great deal of time spinning our little dramas, so please ask before doing something that might snip an important thread. By the way, if you don’t heed this warning… it’s a ban-able offense to put words in a character’s mouth or actions in their…yeah, you get the point.
ф Other Games: We know that some people play the same character in multiple games. We ask that you use your character’s journal for _unscripted_ only.
ф Plagiarism: Do not steal entries from anyone, not even yourself.
ф Spoilers: Not all of us live on the East Coast of the United States you know. To keep things somewhat fair, please put all RAW spoilers/results behind a cut tag with a warning until Wednesdays, and all Smackdown spoilers/results behind a cut tag with a warning until Saturdays.
ф Character Research: Please take the time to research anything you plan to make part of your character and journal entries. We like to keep a certain degree of realism in our little fantasy world.
ф Spelling, Punctuation and Netspeak: Spelling and grammar check is your friend. Please use correct grammar and punctuation. We realize there are some characters whose improper use of grammar and punctuation is a part of their character (such as luchadors who have English as a second language). But for the most part improper use of spelling and grammar, and excessive use of Netspeak makes your journal look like a teenybopper wrote it, not your character. To prove you really read the rules, please put "Miz & Morrison: Be jealous!" in the "Greatest tag team of the 21st century?" line when you sign up.
ф Joining Unscripted: We require that all players be 18+ due to the content of the game. This is to protect everyone involved. If the mods find out a player is under 18, they will be banned from Unscripted. There will be exceptions made for mature and responsible writers.
ф You'll need to prove your age, too. We require EITHER a link to a personal or 'critter' journal of some sort OR just a statement of your date of birth,. If you use a personal or gaming journal for your DOB, your year of birth MUST be showing on the user info.
ф No first post is required. Just fill out the application. After you've been accepted, post an introduction in _unscripted_. In order to stay in the community, you must update again within one week of your initial introductory post. This is in order to prevent people from "collecting" journals, as we want an active, vital game.
ALL new characters must do an application, even if you are already writing a character in Unscripted.
ф Check out our taken/wanted/hold list.
ф Get yourself a journal, at least one icon, and AIM screenname. Although AIM is required, journals are still the most important life line of the game.
