...adding just a little more WTF to your life...

Just as the title implies, this is here to bring the sick and the sad to the masses here on InsaneJournal. This is IJ's first Sick Sad World. Accept no duplicates! Is it ridiculous or ridiculously hilarious? It belongs here! Does it make you slightly nauseous or pissed off? It probably belongs here.

There are just a few simple rules to keep in mind:

1) Credit where credit is due. If you found it on CNN.com, link back to the original article.

2) Please also place copies of all articles below a cut in addition to linking them - articles expire; hilarity is forever.

3) Please upload images to photobucket or similar. It's common courtesy not to hotlink others' images. Besides, if they take them down, we lose them. Many images will be re-uploaded to our space, to preserve article integrity.

4) If it's video format, and somewhere like youtube, it's okay not to have a mirror if you can't. That's completely understandable, just please also place videos below a cut.

5) Please comment on articles. Laugh, discuss, debate. NO FLAMING. It will not be tolerated. Agree to disagree and take all ridiculously personal matters out of the community. Otherwise we'll be forced to sit around and make fun of you.

6) As much as we all love hilarity, this community is not just for teh funnies. Feel free to also upload articles that sicken you, upset you, and otherwise piss you off. These things are sick and sad in an entirely different way, and deserve just as much attention and recognition. That being said, please excercise a modicum of tolerance. The mods are big supporters of GBLT issues, and the first person to make an anti-gay remark would be gone. Furthermore, racial and religious insults that are deemed specifically offensive should be avoided. We're okay with you making fun of extremist Fundamentalist Christians. It's okay to make jokes about stereotypes. It is not okay to say "You're a stupid faggot jew. I hope you die." If in doubt, ask. If we find it offensive, or another member finds it particularly upsetting, we may have to discuss it. I dunno, basically just common sense here. This is a community of ridicule, irritation, frustration and not a small amount of hate, but don't target individual members. We're all hopefully mature enough to handle ourselves.

7) The be-all-end-all decisions in regards to content, banning, rules, etc are the mods. This is not a democracy and we reserve the right to reject you or your submission. :D
