"Oh! Sorry," he shouted in reply. "I'll come over there, then!" He grinned peevishly and bounded over to her side. As he manouvered closer he noticed another new arrival standing by Anneliese in the form, if he wasn't much mistaken, of Bertha Jorkins. Her appearance did little to darken the mood. Rather, Davey was even happier for the company. He acknowledged her with a cheerful wave and, all for being inclusive, addressed the two of them. "Having fun? It's a nice break from the castle, yeah? All those towers and trees get a bit boring after a bit."
Was it just his imagination, or did Bertha look a little curious? Even then, was it curiosity, or something else? Davey couldn't be certain if he was imagining it or not though and so he decided not to pursue this line of thought. "You two been anywhere yet? I mean, I know we've only been here for a couple of minutes but, well, you know. You might've." He would be perfectly happy to stand there and chat about nothing all day, but somehow Davey doubted that the other two would appreciate a dramatic monologue as opposed to a conversation.
