[Standing off to the side is another "program", looking around this grid curiously. He's got a few lines leading out of the back of him into a computer console, energy tracing and retracing the lines back and forth.]

That was unusual. Even for a place like this. His brow creased slightly, studying the newcomer, "Identify."

Jarvis turns to regard the program with a look that seems more like a scan. He's much bigger than this avatar would suggest, this is just an extension of himself.

"Designation: JARVIS, an eighth generation AI computer system. Created by Stark Industries." He looks like Tony Stark, his user, but he talks like a british butler.

Hm, he's not seen a program like you before. "Identify."

Having never been on the outside, Hollis wouldn't know British from Cantonese, or butler from zookeeper for that matter.

"Hollis, Bostrum Colony." He didn't bother saying that he was an ISO, most knew that just by virtue of the fact that he was a Bostrumite.

Another curious tilt of his head. "I have no data on the Bostrum Colony. What is your primary function?"

More and more puzzling, "I'm an architect." It was the word Flynn had used, when some of the ISOs, Hollis included, had expressed an interest in making buildings work.

"I see. Did you build this construct?" He nods at the entire Grid. Though it does seem a bit expansive for one program, but stranger things have happened.

That got a sharp, almost startled laugh, "No, I didn't. I haven't even designed any of the buildings in this area."

Jarvis makes a nod of affirmation, continuing to look around. Scanning the area for landmarks, anything that would give away who DID build it. "It is an impressive construct. Isolated from the rest of the world."

He steps carefully to the left, the strands holding him to the computer console lengthening so he can move around a bit. Now and then, there's a faint outline of a guard to his left and right, two of his heavily armed firewall programs.

"What is this place called?"

"The Grid." He replied, "Outskirts of Tron City." His head was still tilted just slightly, studying Jarvis intently, as if unsure whether or not eh was a threat.

Jarvis isn't a threat unless provoked, he's just an extremely secure computer system. "Thank you," he says, always polite. It's part of his programming.

"Who is in charge here?"

"Tron City? Flynn's the creator, Clu's the administrator, Tron's the head of security, Champion of the Games." Somehow there were capital letters when he said it.

The admin sounds like a good place to start. He will have to have his security team coordinate with this Tron program. However, the mention of games is curious. "Is this construct only for playing games?"

Another snap of a laugh, shaking his head, "You're new, aren't you?" Clearly he wasn't an ISO, but he wasn't like any basic Hollis had ever seen, "Haven't you got a function?"

A dry look and an equally dry answer, "Yes, I have many functions. One of which is to learn and adapt to new situations." Jarvis was not an ISO but he was the closest to artificial intelligence for his time. Stark wasn't even certain how to replicate the results of making Jarvis, it was a happy accident as he keeps saying.

If Hollis were to guess, he'd guess that Jarvis was someone's attempt at writing an ISO, at least, that was how it seemed at the moment, but his brow just arched, "I see."

"Where can the administrator be found?" Jarvis should probably check in with him to be certain he is allowed in here.

He nodded towards the city itself, "City center. Offices are near the Arena." He had no qualms about giving strangers directions, it seemed, but then again, he was something of a stranger himself, though one who'd been in the system longer than Jarvis.

Jarvis had found his way in almost by accident. Hence the cords keeping his avatar attached to his own systems back at Stark Industries. He really should find a proper station to rezz into this reality.

"Is there a communication station near there?" There should be, right? It would only make sense to have it near the city center. Maybe if this ISO had a map?

"There's a communication hub every few blocks." He said, gesturing at about hip-height with one hand, "White light on top, screen on the side. Hard to miss."

"Enter?" He shook his head, "It's a closed system. Everyone here was written here or imported here by Flynn."

A slight shrug, "There's the ISOs as well, came from the Sea."

[info]jarvisconsole

Now that sounded interesting. And a little disconcerting, if it was a closed system, Jarvis may be in trouble for breaking in. "Perhaps I should leave before I am discovered."

But he has to ask. "What is an ISO?"

"That does not compute. Who is your user?" Because programs were created, not....just there.

"We have none." He replied, "We came from the Sea." This was the part where most Basics started making snap judgments, he was getting more used to it, though he didn't like it at all.

That wasn't a question he'd gotten before, and his brow creased slightly, "Perhaps. Or we created ourselves and each other."

That did not add up. But Jarvis had that extra something and could hypothesize illogical possibilities if needed. Other computers would probably be caught in a never ending loop.

"If you say so."
