Q. When you claim a couple, does all 100 icons have to include both of them (or three or what-ever-how-many-there-is), or is it enough to imply the other person/-s? If so - do you have a preferred percentage of the icons that has to include the whole couple?
A. If you pick a couple not all 100 icons have to include the both of them together. This is mainly because a lot of the couples that may be chosen are not cannon so sometimes it's going to be very hard to get good shots where the the both of them are together without having to resort to some very good manipulations.

You can do how many couple icons you want and how many single icons you want. How you split them is entirely up to you. The only rule is that if you decide it's easier to do icons with only one half of the couple in it at a time you have to split the icons 50/50 between the two. For example if your claim is Naruto and Sasuke and you decide not to do any of them together then you must have at least 50 Naruto icons and 50 Sasuke icons.

Although this is permitted I do not expect it to happen since it would defeat the purpose of choosing a couple if you're going to split them completely anyway.

Q.What policy is there (if any) on doujin images and fanart?
A. If it is the doujins that are by other mangakas, which are usually treated as mangas (ie. you can buy it from stores or from conventions) I guess you can treat them as you would if you took the images from the original manga. However, I do suggest you put down from where you got it from and who it was by as well as a general disclaimer.

However, if the doujins are made by fans and is being posted on their websites or deviantart accounts or something you should get permission from the artist to use it. The same goes with fanart. Some people may be fine with it but some might not be. So email them and ask. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you have no idea who the artist is my suggestion is to not use it since I've seen cases where an artist saw a picture of theirs as an icon and told the person who was using it to take it down.

At the end of the day though it's your choice. Just please be considerate of the artist's rules and policies before you do.
