Rufus sat quietly at his desk, face in hand. He took another moment to breathe deeply to chase the feeling he wasn’t quite sure was anger away, before finally staring straight at his Turks. Before his desk stood Rude and Reno, both as naked as the day they were born, what was left of the cut handcuffs still fastened to their wrists, staring down at the floor like two children caught misbehaving.
“Just let me summarise this day – I wake up, I eat breakfast, I dress, I take care of my mail, just like every other day. I leave the residence to take care of some business, just a typical day. Then… I suddenly get the message that my private apartment is in flames. *NOT* like every other day,” he added quickly. “So I hurry back just to find out the cause of all this is…” He interrupted himself, not quite able to bring himself to say it.
“Please tell me… because I don’t understand it… Just *what* gave you the idea to sneak into my apartment in my absence to have sex on *my* bed? Although this part is more or less understandable. But *what on earth* made you chain each other to the bed with handcuffs *WITHOUT* checking first if you even had *THE RIGHT KEYS*?!”
“Well,” Reno murmured. ”It all happened rather quickly…”
Rufus stared at him, one of his best and brightest Turks. “I guess the idea to put a dozen *candles* all over my bedroom also came rather quickly?” Reno nodded slowly. “Of course, *without* putting any protection over them?”
Rufus tightly pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to decide if he wanted to cry or to laugh. “I have no idea who it was that said ‘If you have Turks, you have no need of enemies.’ But he was damn right.”
