And here is my new word count, which isn't too bad for nearly a month of writing. I should have a bit more time to write after the holidays are over and things have calmed down a bit. I really dislike this tiny little word counter -- I hope those larger ones that have the choices of colours get fixed sometime soon. Those look much nicer.

This is my statement of intent for the community, and also my first word count!

I have several roleplay characters, and I do all of my roleplaying in journal comments. My rp partners and I all update our journals regularly, in addition to writing our scenes, so I thought that I would use that writing for this challenge. I know that I write quite a bit with my characters, and I'd like to see just how much I'm able to do in a year.

With that said, this is what I've managed so far, since December 1st. I'm really rather proud of it! I should probably also add that this is what I've written when I've been very busy with Christmas shopping, extra end-of-the-year hours at work, and spending more time away from my writing than usual.

Can someone point me towards a progress bar that will add on the word count as it grows? I'm terrible at math, and I'm bound to make a mistake as to the final word count if I have to add it up manually.

[info]randacello: Hello from a newbie / statement of intent

Hi, I'm Randa. I joined this community a couple of weeks ago.

I've worked on a therapeutic and cathartic writing project during the past three NaNoWriMo's. Every December first for the past three December firsts I've sworn that I'm not going to wait until the next NaNoWriMo to continue diligent work on my project. That diligent work outside of NaNoWriMo has never happened. I think this is so because NaNoWriMo gives me a concrete goal to strive for; without a concrete goal to work toward I become complacent. Problem solved thanks to this community!

My efforts will begin on January first.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm going to try really hard to do this challenge! I've been looking for something to motivate me to write more, so here's hoping. :D Good luck to everyone in the community!

There. Now it's at zero, but will surely rise quickly. Or not. Whichever.

I plan to only add the word count on fan fiction I post on my LiveJournal account: quimtessence @ LJ.com, and which will also be posted here at IJ (I’ll link to both). Journal entries are not what I find hard to write. I forget to write them, but, when I do stick to blogging, I deliver even up to 1,000 words per entry. Coupled with schoolwork and e-mail correspondence, that would just make it too easy, and doesn't really answer the fan fiction-writing part of it all. As for original fiction… Yeah, not going to go there.

Okay, wish me... something... luck... whatever you like.

Luciana. Over and out.

I'm gonna take this challenge. I think I'll even be able to do it, considering the fact that I have my NaNo to write on top of half a dozen other writing challenges and when you add in college essays and projects and the like...I think I can do it!

[info]chichirinoda: Hey, haven't posted here in a while

Just thought I'd drop a note, since I passed another milestone. NaNoWriMo certainly isn't hurting my efforts in this area.

I passed 100,000 words a day or two ago ^____^

[info]chichirinoda: A milestone reached!

I'm just a bit over a month into it, and I just wanted to drop a line to say that I've hit a pretty big milestone tonight. I passed 50,000 words ^_^ By a healthy margin, too!

[info]trio: Another Update

I haven't posted an update since my end of August update, but I've been very busy writing. A bit of pimping, before I get to the update itself... the asylums that have most helped me continue to do well on this challenge are:

[info]novel_in_90
[info]ironman7
[info]50episodes

Definitely check them out if writing challenges spur you on!

I've fallen down a bit on the job this week, due to various time constraints. But [info]novel_in_90 is helping a lot, as is [info]ironman7. :D

My wordcount increase will be very slow the next couple of days, thanks to me going over to a friend's house for some fun. But thanks to signing up for [info]novel_in_90, I feel like I can at least do most of the needed words to keep on track!
