350,000 Words

It's been a long time since I last posted here, but I wanted to post because I just hit a huge milestone the end really is in sight.

My deadline is July 31, 2008. And here's my current wordcount for this challenge:

300,388 / 350,000 (85.8%)

And still not much going on, writing-wise.

I have written 35,788 of 350,000 words. I am now 10.22% done! no frills wordmeter

Of course, this is taking into account that I've not added up all my rp characters' updates yet. This is only the fanfiction that I've written, and rp scenes, not updates. So I will be adding more very soon.

I am still not doing so well, but I am doing better than when I last posted. All of my writing so far has been fanfics though.

Hello! I'm now declaring my intent to write 350,000 words between today and February 15, 2009. I plan on counting things on this journal, as well as some novel ideas I'm toying with. I'm not sure how well I'll do, but here's to hoping I can stick to it! Just to get me started, I've done my first word count from a piece I wrote this morning. It's short, but hopefully many words will follow!

Okay, so this is my first post here. I started counting from December 6 of last year, so it's been about two months since I got started on the challenge. My word count isn't quite what I would have expected, but all the same, I'm happy with it. I'm really hoping to get 350,000 by December 5 of 2008.

Hi everybody! This is my statement of intent for the comm. I started counting from Xmas Day, so it's been a little over a month and I'm doing pretty well! I'm hoping to get 350,000 words written by Xmas Eve 2008!

And here's my first word count --

44432 / 350000 words. 13% done!

I've had writer's block for the most part for the past 2 weeks. it sucks honestly, I don't know if I could have stood to have writer's block for months and months on end like I had before... ugh.

Right now I've currently got a lot of writing projects on my plate, but I've found that a variety of projects gives me a better chance at beating the blocks that come up from time to time...

I'm currently working on: (in no particular order... as they get written in when the mood strikes.)

Amoroso -- a Twilight Series fic. post book 3. Revolving around Lena Thomas, human daughter of the newest member of the Denali Clan of vampires. She becomes the suite mate of Alice, Jasper, Edward and Bella during their first semester of school at the University of Alaska Southeast. Based on the idea that Bella goes through one year of college to make Charlie and Renee happy before marrying Edward. Lena becomes friends with the quartet, and wonders if she will ever find a love anything like theirs, little does she know that the love she seeks will come from the least likely of places.

Welcome Back to Hogwarts -- a Post Book 7 fic revolving around the newest staff at Hogwarts. It is a 1st person limited fiction about Daphine McGonagall... the niece of Minerva McGonagall. She is a animagus that is currently the teacher of Transfiguration, following in her aunt's foot steps. It follows her into her first real romance with another teacher at Hogwarts, and is AU in some facts...

Nora and Draco -- a commission based in the same time and 'verse' as Welcome Back to Hogwarts. It is a one shot about them, and revolves around a re-kindled romance between the two. (Short stories)

Alex and Percy -- another commission based in the Welcome Back 'verse'. It is a one shot about them, and revolving around their new blooming romance. (short stories)

Wishing for a Return -- A M*A*S*H fic, based on an original character Casidy O'Reily, sister to Radar O'Reily. It is a different point of view on a M*A*S*H episode during season 3, in which a threat of a bombing leads to all of the 4077's nurses being sent to another unit until the threat is ceased. Casidy longs to have been allowed to stay at the 4077 because of her new blooming relationship with a soon to be divorced Trapper John MacIntyre.

Dear Mom -- a M*A*S*H fic, based around an original character, Casidy O'Reily. This is based on the premise of a letter home, with scenes in between the actual text of the letter... much like the episodes entitled Dear Dad written from Hawkeye's narritive.

Officers in Love -- a M*A*S*H fic, based around an original character, Casidy O'Reily. Based around her relationship with Trapper John MacIntyre and other relationships around the camp.

Two for the Price of One -- a M*A*S*H fic, based around an original character, Casidy O'Reily. Based around her relationship with Trapper John MacIntyre

Realizations -- A BTVS fic, post season 7. Based around the idea that Buffy, the Scoobies and the potentials that survived moved to NYC so that they can continue their battle against evil. Giles is in London helping gather other surviving potentials and future watchers so that they can replenish their support staff and rebuild the council. Buffy is having trouble dealing with her love life still, and is dealing with that.

Brand New Girl -- A BTVS fic, post season 7, AU in which Buffy finds herself living in her worst nightmare in order to have the love of her life, Angel. (still... just in concept... hasn't really been sent out)

The Immortal -- A BTVS fic, post season 7, in which Buffy is in London fleeing from dealing with Angel and Spike. She meets up with a man that Giles introduces to her as the Immortal and falls under his sway. (read true immortal, not vampire)

Wild One -- Original Fiction. Based around Luna, an orphan girl that had been raised by her grandmother after an attack by wolves had killed her father. As she approached her adulthood, she found that she was a werewolf, and that a pack had killed her parents for a reason.

Aydeen's Song -- Original Fiction. Based around Aydeen, the youngest child of a Irish clan lord. She is sent to marry a man that she hates with all of her being in order to secure a treaty with the English and their family. Aydeen's heart has to be left behind with the love of her life when she is sent, and she doesn't know if it will ever be reunited with her mind.

wow... I never really realized how many little plot bunnies run around in my mind. -sigh- yeah this sucks. -nods- I'm going to have to finish something someday. lmao. I'm hoping that it will be the original fictions... because... well... I'd like to be published one of these days. lmao.

I think that I've got about 30,000 - 40,000 words written so far this year... yeah, this year. I'm going to do the actual count again soon.

From Feb 1, 2008, I plan to write 350k. I don't have a word counter yet, but I'm going to get one. I write a lot of prompts for different muses and then along with fanfic tables I need to get done so this gives me motivation.

It's nice to see so many people joining the craziness this month. It's been a while since I posted my progress, and I just passed a milestone so I thought I'd do that:

And I was wondering the other day how this rather large goal actually breaks down into more doable steps, so I did a bit of math. ( Look under the cut to see what I came up with. )

This is moving along a lot faster than I thought it would. I may just yet meet my goal of 350,000 words!

And, my new word count! I've been writing much more lately than I thought I would, and I'm very proud of this.

I'm always up for a writing challenge. Last year, ending sometime around 5pm yesterday, I wrote about 850k. This year, I want to duplicate that, and having other people to commiserate with helps me a lot.

So; here I am. I'm joining in and am here for the ride. I want 2008 to keep my writing flow going -- in spite of kids/family/summer/etc. Heh.

Looks like I'm the 2nd one to decide that the new year was the perfect time to do this. Anyway I've decided to count any fiction, fan fiction, reviews, rps, homework, essays or just regular posts like this, as long as they are longer than a hundred words(this doesn't count). So my start date would be Jan 1, 2008.

So, I guess this is a sort of statement of intent: figured a brand new year was the perfect time to take up this challenge, so here I am! Planning to count any fiction I write (including fanfic, if I feel so inclined to write any, of course), as well as any essays...and my honours thesis, haha. ;)

Looking forward to watching my own progress, and seeing how far I manage to get *gulp!*

This was a couple of days ago, but I've been clearing away some administrative items off my plate today and I figured since I was posting some stuff and dealing with things that I might as well post to this community, too.

I've passed 150,000 words! My start date was August 1st, so I'm definitely on track.
