[mod post]Important Community Updates!

Hey all.

Your very absent mod here. I'm sorry for the long period of not being around. Rather than boring you all with the details, I'm simply posting about an important change I've decided to make to the community, which hopefully will help it "run itself" and make it more viable for you as writers as well.

From now on, there will be no more claiming system. All you have to do now is choose a table (or tables) from the prompt tables list and you can write whatever you wish for any of the prompts within that table(s). So, if you want to write 10 fics about Naruto, and then your muse for that fandom abandons you, and you decide you want to write Star Wars fics instead you can just switch without any dropping/reclaiming hassle. To repeat, you can write whatever you want (original/fanfic/slash/het/femmeslash/RPS/RPF) and mix & match fandoms as you like.

Hopefully that will make it more flexible for everyone, and you'll no longer have to wait for claims to be approved. There's more info on the profile page.

Thanks! <3

Completed Claims List/Hall of Fame

If you've completed one of your claims, please reply in the comments with the title of your series and character list, and a link to where we can find all your finished fics (i.e. a table or table of contents with links.) Congratulations on completing one of your writing goals, and thanks for participating in the community.

If anyone would like to contribute 'achievement' graphics that writers can put on their profile pages/wherever, that would also be great! Otherwise, I'll try and have some up here soon...

[Admin] Member Input Always Welcomed ^^

Just a note for the members, in the interests of keeping this community interesting and letting everyone have a say: if anyone has their own idea for a table of 30 prompts, feel free to post it by replying to this entry and I'll add it to the main list of prompts over here. You don't need to do the HTML, I'll take care of all that; just list each of the 30 prompts in order, along with the general title/theme of the prompt table.

[Admin Post] On Critiquing

Okay, I'll be honest, most of my responses to fics thus far have been based solely on the idea of giving encouragement, not critique. I've been in lots of communities where critiques can be a touchy subject. I know we all write for different reasons, and a person who writes just for the "fun" (or whatever) of it may not be inclined to want an actual critique of their work as much as someone who takes this even a bit seriously. Whatever reason you're here, that's fine. But I would just like to suggest, for those of us who wish for critiques on our work, it might be a good idea to mention that amongst the summary when posting your fic. Critiques also won't be mandatory for readers; if all you can come up with is 'good fic' then that's fine too :P And asking for a critique, as I'm sure everyone knows anyway, isn't the same thing as the author saying "Flame me!"

Thanks everyone for making this a great community so far.

love,
