Wow, I've been gone a bit. Thought I think I might have got myself writing again.

For instance, I have the next part of Gracious almost done. Just need to finish up the last little bit and get it beta'd, and it'll be good to go. Also writing a Mercverse fic. Already 5200 words in on that. Plan on having it all done and beta'd before I start posting it, however.

Anyone remember either of those stories/AUs?

I'm behind on my word count still but I got 2,000 words typed for it already and I'll be getting more done soon. I hope.

I finished my late fandom obligation which finally when I only had 100 words left to type, I finally knew what I wanted to write so someday soon I'll have to finish that but I have other fandom obligations ready to type. So... it'll have to wait now that I posted the rough draft.

I've got a fic rough draft due tomorrow that's gone from 0 words to 1,000 words. I've only got 4,000 words left to write. And I've got more caffeine, guarana, ginseng, B vitamins and other goodness in me than I know what to do with.

I have two more fest fics in various states of doneness that need to be typed and finished.

Off I go to strain my wrists as much as I strained my legs yesterday. Ian and I took a four mile walk to his work and back. My legs are still sore although we did do our usual bare minimum walk this morning.

My eyes are blurry and I'm energized tired but I'm going to keep swimming.

I hope everyone has been well. I was awfully ill last week, and before that things were such that I haven't been able to go properly into lj, ij, jf and dw for a long time. The end result is that my email accounts are a mess and I daren't dnld mails to outlook express till I clean them up online first. I'll be doing that from afternoon today. I feel almost nearly myself today.

Also, I plan to buy the paperback of 'Unseen Academicals' as soon as it is out !

Since it's been identified from a partial skull there's not much information about it out there but I did find this.

And it's also mentioned on the Jurassic Park Wiki, which is just an excuse really for me to link to the Jurassic Park Wiki because I only just discovered it :D

I need to stop getting, like actually angry over the shit Allan Ball does to Charlaine Harris's books, but this just stirred up boiling anger that never left me.

Ball said the Vampire King of Mississippi is coming in season three. He provides a contrast to Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana (Evan Rachel Wood). “He’s older,” Ball said. “He’s much more mature. He’s much more methodical and grounded. She’s kind of crazy. To me, she’s kind of like Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan, where she has a very short attention span and she’s very, very egomaniacal and very self-obsessed and doesn’t really think about her actions, whereas the Vampire King is very much an adult. He has an agenda. He has things he wants to achieve. I think he’s much more formidable than she is.”

So basically, he took Sophie-Anne's character and gave it to a man. Who is, of course, this being True Blood, 'much more formidable.' And set her up to take a disastrous fall and have 'higher' vampire authorities PO'd at her.

I mean, he spends the entire second season undermining and sidelining Sookie--I'm not even mentioning Calypso being turned into Maryanne--and a fair amount of the first season too, so I'm not surprised, just frustrated all over again.

ALLAN BALL. SOOKIE DOES NOT NEED POWERS TO BE AWESOME. SHOVE OFF.
