Shuffling feet upon filthy cracked floors
Pale blue cotton pants two sizes too long
constantly under foot

Once brightly jeweled emerald eyes
now just ghostly pale
Golden mane not kempt
Scruffy whiskers abound

Tiny glass windows upon every door
hiding horrors audible yet not visible
Chipped yellow paint making butter-colored walls
appear three-dimensional

Along the hallway he trundled
Burly uncaring men adorning white coats
accompanying his sides
Not fighting
too medicated
too lost deep inside his mind to care

Leather straps sheathed aging wrists
acting as his only blanket against safety
from himself

Viggo was never sure which was worse. The fact that his partner was in the asylum in the first place or the way Sean didn’t even seem to care that he was.
