“You’re not coming out for a drink with the crew, then?”
Lechuck shook his head, looking at himself in the mirror and tugging at his best coat, “No, the governor ‘as invited me to ‘er mansion.”
“Why’s that?”
“I don’t know, Largo, somethin’ about wantin’ to talk to me, my impact on piracy in the tri island area...” LeChuck trailed off with a roll of his eyes.
“Political crap, I see.”
“Aye, apparently invitin’ pirates to ‘er mansion is somethin’ of a passtime to the governor,” LeChuck snickered lewdly. “She got a thing for pirates?”
“’ow am I to know? Just thought I should go, save the bother I might get for not takin’ up the invitation.”
“Suppose,” Largo shrugged, “you’ll be out drinkin’ later, though, after the governor thing?”
“Aye, I’ll try and get away from ‘er as soon as I can.”
Largo nodded slightly, “I’ll see you later, then.” He turned and started walking toward the doorway.
“I’ll see you later.” The captain replied unenthusiastically.
Title: For Eternity. Fandom: Monkey Island. Characters: LeChuck, Elaine Marley. Prompt: Moments - 10 - Exposed. Word Count: 251. Summary: LeChuck has captured Elaine again and he, yet again, confronts her with his love. Disclaimer: Monkey Island, and all the characters within, belong to Lucasarts.
“Ye know I love ye, Elaine.” LeChuck took another advancing step towards the chained woman, who increased her glare with every step closer he got.
“You know I don’t love you, LeChuck.”
“Ye will.” The pirate responded confidently, matching her glaring eyes with a strong gaze of his own.
“I never will.”
LeChuck’s growled in frustration and taking another step toward her, shot out his hand and grasped her chin roughly. “Ye are so stubborn, Elaine,” he spat, “I’ll make ye love me, ye know I will.”
“You’ll never make me do anything,” Elaine snarled in response, “let go of my face now.”
LeChuck’s expression softened slightly, but he didn’t let go of her chin. “Why can’t ye love me?”
“You’re a monster.”
“We belong together,” the pirate said feebly, ignoring her words, “I love ye and I’d look after ye for eternity.”
“Or you’d just kill me when you got frustrated with me, like you do with everyone else.”
“No...,” LeChuck shook his head slowly, a sad expression crossing his face, “I’d never ‘urt ye, Elaine, surely ye know that?”
“Just get lost, LeChuck,” Elaine replied blankly.
The pirate didn’t want to leave her but, even though in his raw emotion-driven state, could see that he had no chance of getting through to her. He decided to leave her to think things over and would come back when she was less angry.
“I’ll be back later, my beloved.” LeChuck sighed, gloomily exiting the small cell he was keeping Elaine in.
