I was sitting at my desk reading my book ‘Labyrinth’ again when I heard the wind pick up and an owl appeared at my window. It was exactly what happened last time Jareth appeared in front of me.
I moved over to the window and watched trying to see him arrive. I needed to see him again even if it was for only a brief amount of time. As the window blew open I saw him standing there, not looking any different from the last time that I saw him. I stepped backwards allowing him to enter.
“Jareth,” I said simply hopefully not conveying the turmoil of emotions that I was feeling at seeing him again.
As he entered I saw home look around the room. “Sarah,” he said in the same tone that I had used. When he said, “I missed you,” I felt something stir in my, something I never expected to feel- passion
I wondered why he was here, now of all times. Did he realise it had been three years exactly since we had last seen each other?
I hoped she would accept my offer. I don’t know what was compelling me to make it but I new I had to do it. “I’ve missed you.”
“I missed you too, Jareth,” I replied taking in a deep breathe. Why oh why was he here?
I heard his offer and my heart stopped. My dreams were coming true.
I didn’t expect him to do what he did next. He kissed me. It wasn’t until that I happened that I realised that the gap had been closing between us. It took me a few minutes to register what was happening but then I kissed him back. The kiss was more than anything I had ever dreamed of.
When we pulled apart I whispered, “Yes,” and I knew I meant it with all my soul. He held out a hand and I took it not thinking about what I was leaving behind.
