ComaMi’s Level-Up Trick

When fighting a Fire Glob, if you feed it a lot of fire first, you get significantly more EXP when you defeat it. But it has to be A LOT of fire.

In the description I read, the player reported 23 fire missiles leveled up all her characters considerably, but at 28 missiles, the EXP counter rolled over into negative numbers! Also, she was playing the PS2 version of ComaMi.

I tried 26 fire missiles on my GameCube version, and got close to 49,000 EXP, enough to send everyone up a level or two. 40 fire missiles gave over 830,000 EXP, and everyone jumped up!

But my Fire Globs lack tenacity. Under normal circumstances, they would run away long before I could defeat them and collect the EXP. Here’s where Marino comes in. The Fire Glob can’t run away if it never gets a turn!

It’s still very difficult to pull off, though. I needed all my Gain Hypers to keep Marino going. And the Fire Glob gets to be so strong it’s very difficult to defeat. Given how fast and strong the characters have to be to do it, I wouldn’t exactly call this a quick and easy way to level up. But it does work.
