A Few New Things
A few bits and bobs. I'm now tucked into another project but I can say that I really enjoyed this one.
This is a picture of one of the gloves. For this, I used the Fall Harvest Multicolor in k1p1 stitch to make most of the glove before stitching the two ends together, leaving a hole for the thumb. I CO'd 30 stitches at the wrist and CO with the same number. The first inch 3cm were made with ribbing though in a k1p1 pattern. Its only my second time I've used ribbing in an item and I'm proud of the results.
This is a picture of the scarf. The pattern is actually not that neat but my light was running out and I'm too lazy to have taken pictures a day later. Same yarns used but in a complete k1 stitch. :p
My hat (Yay!) is the first thing I used ribbed stitch on. In this instance, I used a k2p2 ribbing before knitting the rest in k1p1 on circular needles. After working with this thing, I've come to the conclusion that I've really got to get the hang of double pointed needles. My hands were really hurting towards the end in trying to work with the circulars in the finally decreasing stitches.
Another picture of the hat. One interesting thing to note: On knitting this hat, the yarn matched each color up at each row and created quite a surprise. With 80 CO stitches in k1p1, the colors gave off a swirling pattern that really couldn't be shown using the crappy webcam I have to take pictures. It's actually a really lovely design and I'm planning on seeing whether some of the other yarns I have here from the same company might do the same trick.
Now for shower and more knitting. Cheers all!
