Word #74

Word #74 Here is your word for the week! Don't look at the word until you are ready to write. When your fifteen minutes are up and you have completed your ficlet, you may either post it as a response here, or post a link to the ficlet in your own journal. If posting on your own journal, please hide the prompt word in some way (ie. under an IJ-cut) in order to avoid spoiling it for others. Today's word is: deliver You can copy and paste this code when posting your ficlet if desired.

Deliver:

Control / Mickey Kostmayer:

"You can't be serious?" Mickey snapped his mouth shut at Control's amused look. "That's the oldest trick in the book."

"It still works most of the time. If it gets us a look inside..." Control picked up the van's phone and dialed.

Half an hour later he tackled the pizza delivery person as she stepped out of her car. Twenty dollars and a little fast talking later, he donned the red ball cap, slipped into the tight jacket, and headed up the walk.

Inside the van, Mickey shot picture after picture over his boss' shoulder and around his body, hoping something usable would show in developing. The real delivery driver watched in awe.

Finally Control convinced them to take the pizzas. He strolled nonchalantly back to the van, climbed in the back, stripped the hat and jacket, and then headed the driver on her way.

"Get anything?" he asked.

"Think so." Mickey made sure he had all the rolls before dumping them into a dark bag.

"Including her phone number?"

He looked up just in time to see Control's wink.

I admit, I took around 30 or 45 seconds longer than the 15 minutes. But it was fun! :)
