Happy Valentines Day to You [Gus/Casper fic by sakru909] It was the day before Valentines Day and Gus had, unfortunately, forgotten about the whole day; it wasn’t until Casper said something about making a Valentines Day diner in between kisses. At the mention of the holiday Gus had gasped in shock and quickly ran out the door, leaving a flustered Casper lying on the bed with random strands of white-blonde hair in his eyes. Gus then had to run downstairs while pulling his pants back up and get the keys to his car from the kitchen table where he left it after he got home from work and gunned the car headed to the nearest store he could find. He was now with shopping cart in hand and looking down the card isle trying to find the perfect card to along with his gift, which he still hadn’t bought yet and he was running out of time since the store was closing in only thirty more minutes. As he picked up card after card of cruddy and cliché sayings Gus was ready to beat his head in with one of the very cards he held in his hands, until he saw a lone card sticking out between rows. Gus put the cards he held back by shoving them in a random corner and took the car he saw. He then gave a huge sigh and opened the card to read. Gus knew that the card he had picked up was the one when he saw that there were no unfunny sayings and yawningly cliché romantic drivel; it simply stated a simple fact, that he was in love with Casper and always would be. He put the card in the cart and continued on his marry way to find a gift and he thought he knew the right thing to look for. *** Walking down all different kids of isles Gus realized that saying he knew the one gift to get Casper was an understatement. What Gus ended up with was a small stuffed dog with a bow around it’s neck, a box of assorted chocolates, and that classics CD that Casper had been going off about for the past couple of days; Gus now suspected those were subtle hints, but he guessed they were even too subtle for him to figure out. There was one specific item though that Gus was now searching for in isle sixteen, which was the official electronics part of the store. Darian had recently gotten Casper into playing video games that he absolutely flaunted over even though he was bad when he first started. He thought the whole video gaming thing was pretty boring, he never understood what was the draw towards them, but Casper enjoyed playing the assortment of games that Darian would bring over when he visited their house when he was bored and his friends were all out doing whatever things teenagers did in their spare time. While Casper did enjoy playing the games with Darian he would still go around and talk about owning his own so Darian doesn’t have to drag his along. This was what prompted Gus to go into the electronics isle and buys the lone X-Box 360, shelling out a few hundred dollars to the grinning kid who probably hasn’t seen many ninety year old men come in and buy game stations. Leaving the store Gus rushed home and wraps the gifts he bought in the bedroom while Casper was just starting to eat dinner; more microwave dinners for them since, as Casper liked reminding him, they hadn’t went out to buy any groceries for six whole days. *** Valentines Day had finally arrived; greeting everyone with a shockingly cold and windy day. The cold of outside and not having to work that night, Gus and Casper spent the night in bed, feeding each other breakfast in between gentle kisses. After a good three hours of lying in bed Casper had decided it was high time he had taken a shower and had went off into the bathroom that adjoined the master bedroom. When the hot spray of water was turned on Gus gave a wicked grin and slipped out of bed and as quietly as possible he decided to go ahead and conserve water, reassuring himself it was for the good of low house bills. After the shower was done they spent a few more minutes inside the steaming bathtub giving each other light butterfly kisses until it started to get cold and they really wanted to dry off. When they finished that they went out in long coats and sweaters for a small walk around the park hoping their long clothes would keep out the cold; it didn’t quiet worked out that way and the were still freezing when they managed to come home to lunch and movie marathons. *** By the time dinner rolled around both had went to the grocer and bought as much food as they could: steak, mashed potatoes, corn, and a bottle of expensive champagne. When it came to preparing the food Gus was usually the one to do it since whenever Casper tried to cook something it always ended up burnt. He had wanted to do the turkey for Thanksgiving and when it was done the outside was surly crispy, but when you bit into it you realized how undercooked it really was. Unsurprisingly Gus had gotten sick for a week because of that stupid poultry. As Gus finished up with the food he laid the plated on top of an oaken table with just the gleaming wood and nothing to cover the beautiful patterns it displayed up. Casper quickly dug into his food and was soon finished while Gus still had some ways to go before he finished the steak on his plate. “So what did you get me this year?” Casper asked with a bright smile covering his features. Gus gave a dramatic sigh and got up to retrieve his gifts while Casper got his own presents. Casper was certainly exited whenever he got presents for whatever occasion and was even more exited when the gift happened to be from Gus himself. Casper stared at the gifts and unwrapped each one with vigor and a wide smile until he reached the big box that sat in front of him. Gus grinned nudging the gift closer to him, having all ready opened all of his. “Go on open it.” Gus urged and Casper shrugged his shoulders before diving into unwrapping. When he wrapping paper was thrown off Casper stared at the box containing the X-Box 360 and looked back up to Gus with wide eyes. “You actually got it, I didn’t think since you hate video games…” Casper said and trailed off when Gus put a finger to his lips lightly. “Well it is Valentines Day after all and it doesn’t matter if I like the gift or not; that’s why I got it for you.” Gus said. Casper smiled and kissed Gus’s finger and mumbling beneath it; Gus strained to hear the words. “Sine you got me the X-Box why don’t we go play some games of our own.” Casper said and had no protest when Gus pulled him up off the chair and into their bedroom not bothering to wipe the grin from his face.
